"MUSCLE ACTIVATION TECHNIQUES IS 20 YEARS AHEAD OF EVERYBODY IN THE TRAINING WORLD. IT'S OPENED NEW BOUNDARIES THAT I NEVER THOUGHT WERE POSSIBLE."
BRYSON DECHAMBEAU, U.S. OPEN CHAMPION
WHAT MAKES MAT® UNIQUE?
Muscle Activation Techniques® differentiates itself from other techniques because it never attempts to directly lengthen or change the muscle by stretching, heating, kneading, or foam rolling. MAT® is not trying to “relax” muscle, but instead tries to “activate” the muscle, so that your body is better prepared to handle the forces that come from exercise and every day movements.
Helping You Feel Better
MAT® is a tool to activate weak tissues and help you feel better. Proper movement around your joints will reduce discomfort, make you feel mobile wherein you're typically tight, improve your healing process and offer you a lifetime of better movement & happiness.
IMPROVing YOUR PERFORMANCE
Muscle imbalances in the long term can cause pain & injuries; however, in the short term those same imbalances can go undetected causing decreased performance. Traditionally there hasn't been a very effective way to reduce these imbalances and increase strength without taking time off from sporting activities, with MAT® you can see increased performance without time off. This is why MAT® is used by some of the best athletes in the country.
Find Out If MAT® Is Right For You
If you're suffering from movement issues, tightness, recurring inflammation or complicated problems traditional approaches haven't been able to solve then MAT® may be right for you. Let's book a consultation and discuss how I can help you!
Meet Charles Lantz
I've been an avid athlete throughout my life from playing varsity sports at the collegiate level to competing in numerous ultra-marathons and endurance events. I came across MAT® when I was a personal trainer, and began using it effectively on clients with complicated issues and the speed at which it helped them return to better physical performances was astounding! I progressively began studying MAT® and perfecting my skill-set to become one of the few Masters of Muscle Activation Techniques® in the nation. I've been able to focus on being an MAT® practitioner for the past decade working with professional athletes in the NFL, MLB and even members of professional ballet companies. However, I find the most gratification from helping regular people overcome recurring or troublesome issues due to muscle inhibition or weakness. I recently relocated to Bellingham from San Francisco and in my personal time I study topics in wellness, participate in endurance sports, go hiking with my wife and enjoy exploring new spots around town.
